Even during the Xplay days he was pretty openly hostile to any type of "gamer" he didn't personally approve of. If anything anime crossed his path, he would devolve into the same generic bully jokes as any non-nerd.

The show was quite funny and he played plenty of great bits during it, but that's more on the writers' strength instead of him ever being passionate and caring about the audience.
