Retired Marine Corps Gen. John Allen wrote a scathing commentary for Foreign Policy, saying the president "threatened to deploy the U.S. military against American citizens." Navy Adm. Mike Mullen said in The Atlantic he was "sickened" to see security personnel "forcibly and violently" removed protesters from Lafayette Square and that Trump had "laid bare his disdain for the rights of peaceful protest."
The ones that were actively supporting a color revolution against the United States, and were publicly objecting to the use of reasonable force to stop the wanton destruction of DC and Seattle. The entire Lafayette Square incident was a lie concocted by the media because Antifa had tried to attack the White House and failed, and had been rioting for several days, and had attempted to burn down the historic church, all while the DC police and local government openly supported the terrorism. Same thing with Seattle and Portland where Antifa had spent most of the year attempting to kill hundreds of federal agents defending both federal court houses there which had been under siege by both and Antifa and the state government there which was attempting to facilitate the murders.
To be clear, Milley has already stated that he intended to start a military coup in the event that Trump did deploy troops to Seattle/Portland, and that's actually what these op-eds were attempting to rally support around. If Trump had deployed troops to Portland, he very likely would have been executed by now.
In any case, Trump didn't take the bait, and if you recall correctly, couldn't even get Twitter to allow his press secretary to talk about Hunter Biden's laptop because of the DHS & FBI already guaranteeing that part of the coup. The idea that Trump even had the ability to silence dissent is laughable.
That's why he's been conducting a purge of the military of anyone who supported Trump. That's part of one of the reasons they were purging people who refused to support the mandates. It was an excellent excuse to remove dissenters, even if it was appealed and overturned. If you didn't take the vaccine, then you lost your rank, your position, and your entire career (possibly even being court-martialed) all before the lawsuits could work their way through the courts.
I dont doubt any of that. But then why throw his own fellow travelers under the bus by court martialing them for doing exactly what he was doing, right down to still serving the goal of "getting" Trump.
I am sure there would be a strategy there. Unless, like you said in another comment here, that he really is just the Turbo-Retard version of McClellan.
No.
They are smart.
They know what they are doing.
They are doing it anyway. They are counting on you to apply Hanlon's Razor, and laughing about it after the fact.
I don't think a man who took it upon himself to conspire with a foreign power to remove his CO's ability to command has any business court-martialling anybody for a lack of discipline.
Actually, those generals that wrote critical op-eds about Trump were in fact in the wrong and in breach of some military code and they should have been court-martialed or sanctioned in some other more 'discreet' way to supposedly 'prevent the politicization of the military.'
Milley didn't, because he has chosen to side with the Democrats and the deep state/swamp.
Well, Milley should be court-martialled, but not for that. This is a man that got in touch with his opposite numbers in the CCP to tell them not to worry, he would prevent his commanding officer from exercising that command in order to protect China.
Benedict Arnold had the good grace to flee to the British after getting caught trying to kill his own troops with a surprise British landing at West Point. Hell, Arnold actually was screwed over by the Continental Congress, and Washington really did try to do what he could to get him fucking paid.
This is more like George McClellan who behaved so incompetently that it's genuinely concerning that he may have actually intended to lose the Civil War. The fact that he then tried to run against Lincoln, makes you wonder just how likely it really was. Except, George McClellan didn't actually engage in a coup.
I'd say this is closer to "What if we swapped George McClellan and Smedly Butler, and McClellan agreed to impose a Fascist government and physically remove FDR?" Except this assumes that the Banker's Plot wasn't a false flag by FDR in the first place that Butler exposed.
Honestly, James Milley might be the worst American military commander of all time, and I am including the guy who surrendered Ft. Detroit in the War of 1812.
Very bad idea. That will just turn them (especially Fauci) into martyrs, and I wouldn't be surprised if they welcome it themselves as "I'm being killed by the evil fascists for opposing them!"
Much better plan is
Strip them of all assets, and keep a permanent eye on their accounts to ensure that people can't just send them new money (but if they get an actual job or something, that's OK).
Toss a dice to determine where to send them (Inner city Bronx, remote town in Appalachia, northern Alaska, I'm sure we could find a few more options).
Laugh as they have to actually try to live a life there, and have to do actual work to survive instead of living on their bureaucratic and political power.

It's hard to believe how much was set against Trump, and how much he has to keep mum.abpit to stay alive.
We literally had armed people trying to murder the president but pepper spray was too much
BUT THAT WAS YOU!!! YOU DID THAT YOU ABSOLUTE BABOON!!!!!
I swear to baby Jesus, these people are about 5 IQ points above being legally retarded, and it swings depending on the day.
He knows, he's just lying.

Remember, these people only complain 'it's about politics' when you point out their side is actually politicking.
Remember, "confession through projection" is a thing...

Modern day Benedict Arnold.

Mark Milley and Fauci should both spend the rest of their lives in prison, right next to a lot of other people.
They should swing for their actions. Treason alone is punished with execution.

We are so fucked.
If I live long enough, I'll be interested to see how 2024 pans out.
