Imp, I love you bro (no homo), but you gotta do the math on that one a bit more. Had a friend in finance who broke it down for me as more or less a gamble. Yes, if you get a messy divorce you are going to possibly lose value/money/sanity/etc in the future, but there are real tax incentives to being married and that money can compound over time.
Does it balance out the potential future loss? Well that all depends. Just like an insurance agent, you need to factor in the risk factors for the individual. Its not a 100%, but like any numbers game you can come out ahead. Hell, I have known folks who got married and the wife's family bought them a home. Even in a divorce scenario they still win.
I think the real issue is that men need to be taught that love is an emotional thing, but marriage is a financial and legal transaction and should be treated as such.
Half the argument for gays to get married is because there is a literal tangible monetary gain in being married because of taxes and insurance and lots of other legal shit.
That's ignoring the thousands of years where marriage was, at its most cynical, a completely free houseslave to homemake while you worked.
Oh bullshit, nobody ever saw value in marriage, they did it to avoid going to hell.
It was slight hyperbole, but not much.
Marriage propagated purely through the threat of eternal damnation.
Almost everything you say is significant hyperbole, you just happen to ardently believe the things you say.
Not everyone is of Roman-Catholic believe. And even then “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”

Read Proverbs 31.
Glad you are back, guy.
