It was pretty obvious that it was going to be him.
Would prefer Zaluzhny. Also as a president, for how Zelensky was an idiot who would complain in public for more than a month about the Americans desperately warning him that the Russians are coming to murder his people.
"White House Warnings Over Russia Strain Ukraine-U.S. Partnership" was actual New York Times headline from January:
There was a whole lot of this, from him personally and his administration.
He redeemed himself later, but Jesus Christ. Reminded me a lot of Rydz-Śmigły in 1939, that's not in how similarly they acted because they didn't at all but the sheer fucking stupidity in the face of a deadly threat.
Rydz-Śmigły later also kinda redeemed himself (at one point even stabbed a Gestapo agent to death with a cane blade after returning to Warsaw from London) but just no one cared about him at this point after the disgrace. I should also note that he took all responsibility for the disaster of September 1939 on himself.
When you put "Rydz-Śmigły" in Google bar in Poland, the first suggestion is "zdrajca" (traitor). Super harsh. It's also possible he was killed by his own (now rival) people who then staged a heart attack story.
Anyway:
He actually did have a TIME cover story: https://time.com/6216213/ukraine-military-valeriy-zaluzhny/
They loved Hitler so much, they made a sequel.
Putin was already (15 years ago, because he's so old). Putin's idol Stalin was twice (1939 after the pact with Hitler and again in 1943 after turning the tide of war in the East against his former ally). Stalin was in fact the only TIME Man of the Year (now "Person of the Year") to be awarded twice. And of course was, as they say, worse than Hitler. (But so much more successful.)
Putin's grandfather was actually Stalin's personal cook, and previously Lenin's, too - and once even Rasputin's (according to Putin). Also a Chekist, of course. Survived all the purges and died of natural causes in 1965, still serving the Party elite.
So what you're saying is that your boy Zelensky is in good company.
He's not my boy, his pacifism was criminal. He has reinvented and partly redeemed himself but this is not enough. He will need to stand the trial for his role during the period of October to February 24 in particular, and the disasters that followed after he had refused to organize the defense when there was a time for that.
Ukraine needs a military leader with political power. Much more traditionalist too. A "Nazi Junta" from Russian fairy tales.
And harder on Russia and communism than General Dudayev who remained a Soviet at heart.
Someone more like Mannerheim. Here on a TIME cover: https://content.time.com/time/magazine/archive/covers/1940/1101400205_400.jpg
In particular, a Mannerheim from these Russian leaflets: https://www.reddit.com/r/PropagandaPosters/comments/1g88x4/executioner_mannerheim_antimannerheim_propaganda/
And this is his best monument, in a way: https://www.raatteenportti.fi/en/winter-war-monument/
It's not on an Mannerheim Line, but Ukraine did need their Mannerheim Line in the south and yet there was just nothing there, just border guards in unfortified checkpoints. This makes me angry everytime I think about that. Poroshenko was about to be tried for treason for less.
Ah good, so you just want me to send more of my tax dollars to be spent (totally not laundered!) by a criminally incompetent idiot to fix a situation that he himself helped to create! That's so much better!
Your tax dollars have been wasted on disarming the world's third nuclear superpower Ukraine between 1994 and 2002 (nearly 2,000 warheads and hundreds of strategic missiles and bombers), which led to this situation so much more.
2/10 that picture does not have enough diversity
I tried (and failed) to find anyone (just anyone, and there are crowds) in uniform, but there's a strangely very Arab looking (highly Arabic, like a Saudi or Yemeni) dude, next to a woman looking like Denisova (older, short blonde, large glasses).
Denisova was fired for making shit up instead of dealing with real issues: https://babel.ua/en/news/79236-the-council-fired-ombudsman-denisova
She and her daughter were especially busy with promoting (and inventing) fake rape stories: https://meduza.io/en/feature/2022/06/28/we-work-on-the-information-front
He's struggling hard for any meaningful support from Israel, beyond sanctioning Putin's many Jewish oligarchs (including the formerly richest man in Israel, Abramovich, who was practically expelled from Israel in March, after having been expelled from Britain back in 2018).
The only unsanctioned of Russia's Jewish oligarchs is Blavatnik, considered the richest person in Britain today after so many others fell to the modern English Expulsion. He's even a knight there, and he's an unusual one as he's been an American since the 1970s and only came to Russia after the Soviet Union fell (he was born in Soviet Ukraine). He's known as "the smartest one", Sir Blavatnik.
A meaningful aid would be providing electronic countermeasures to the Iranian Shahed drones. They do have them, but refuse to share. (I can understand not sharing the Iron Dome as it's in use.)
They're not wrong, he's the most successful prostitute in world history!
He's fucked tens of thousands of Russians to death without any of them paying him even a ruble. It's a hobby.
Biden's his pimp, he's fucked Russian soldiers AND all of Ukraine especially since they have been drone striking Russian airbases THAT HOUSE NUKES!
False flag or not, if a drone strike happens and one goes off, the exclusion zone is getting extended overnight from Chernobyl to most of Ukraine.
It's just a special military operation to demilitariZe (and decommuniZe) Russia. It's not even a war, you know.
Do you say Russia will respond by just mass murdering all of these "Russian speakers" (who no longer speak Russian after what Russia has done to them) who are being so oppressed by them Nazis? While also contaminating Russia, Belarus, and NATO countries? Interesting proposal, I admit.
And Ukraine used to HOUSE NUKES (having more than France, UK, and China combined) until the Americans convinced them to transfer all of them to America's "trusted partner", Russia. (They also gave to Russia more than half thousand air-launched cruise missiles that are now being fired into Ukrainian cities, among other things.)
The only thing stopping Russia using nukes is the fact that China, India and other business partners would cut ties if they first strike
But if Ukraine 'triggered' an explosion by recklessly attacking targets within Russia than focusing on reclaiming their land, well they'll just accept Ukraine brought it on themselves, put on some sunglasses and watch the light show.
And it'd be easy to pin it on them being the cause, they were reckless enough to false flag their own missile hitting Poland to try and get NATO fully involved, is them willing to risk a nuclear explosion inside Russia too much of an ask?
You can't "trigger an explosion" (nuclear) like that, it's not a cartoon. Are you a literal child?
There was no any "false flag", it was an air defense missile (S-300). Russia hit Russian territory with their own air defense missiles many times while dealing with Ukrainian air raids, it's happening all the time in all modern conflicts. Ukrainians once shot down a Russian passenger plane full of Israelis during their joint training exercise with the Russians in their better times (2001 or so), and much more recently Iran shot down an Ukrainian passenger plane full of Iranians, also by human error. It's been always a huge problem, with some estimates saying that the British anti-aircraft fire could have killed more people than the Germans air raids did (unlikely), and probably all of American civilians who died in the Pearl Harbor attack were killed by the American gunners (very likely as the Japs attacked the military targets only - there was also a lot of American friendly fire on their own planes).
Yet they kept yelling "Russia attacked Poland! Russia killed Polish citizens!" Even after NATO went "this is your air defence missile, not a Russian long range missile"
I said Russia's partners just need an excuse to look the other way even more, attacking the interior of Russia welcomes even more possibilities of it happening.
That's also the Polish gov (and opposition alike) line, the responsibility is 100% Russian. Just like all the civs killed by their fellow Americans in Pearl Harbor only died because of the Japanese attack.
Also the first Polish citizen who died in this war did in 2014, and he was brutally murdered by a drunken Russian fighter who first beat him in a street of Donetsk, then emptied his entire magazine into his legs (and pavement) and left him for dead. He was scooped to a hospital in Kharkiv, got one of his leg amputated but died 3 days later anyway. His name was Kazimierz Wróbel, he was living there with his local wife.
I admit I laughed at that. Reminds me of the joke with Renly from GOT.
Laundromat of the year award?
Protagonist of the year in the kayfabe circus that is politics according to the MSM
