Why does something so cuddly have to be so dangerous? Can you imagine just taking a nap with that fluffball?
Too bad their hands are made of steak knives.
If not friend, why friend shaped?
Uh, those polar bears are coming right at him.
I was going to say this, but then I realized the angle and image looks like a drone shot, and then article backs this up.
But yes, don't fuck with polar bears. They look awesome, but they will absolutely fuck you up with no problems.
That still doesnt give them justice. They are the only species of bear that is known to actively attack humans just because they can. Unlike every other bear that will only attack humans if they feel threatened or are starving.
There's a saying: In a polar bear's mind, there are only four things: snow, ice, other bears, and food.
Polar bears are the apex of apex predators, it simply doesn't make sense for them to fear anything.
Something I remember from years ago rated polar bears as the #2 apex predator in the world with regards to predator to prey mass.
#1 are Orca because they hunt Blue Whales.
I'm sure the Soviets could have figured out a tame polar bear, given enough time.
Why tame them? Just release a couple in enemy camps and let nature take its course.
Well that's the other half. You keep the most aggressive ones in one half of the program, and keep the tamest, friendliest ones in the other half. Just like the foxes.
Wait places like this still exist!? I thought this was a climate crisis and everyone was going to die by 2025 because the North Pole was gone? So confused...beautiful shot though!
The whole "climate change is killing polar bears!" is pure propaganda.
Oh I know. I mean at the moment we can't even predict next month's weather, much less next year's, or the next 5 in a row. The further out you go the less accurate forecast models are. Even IF you could somehow "prove" climate change was actively occurring you still wouldn't be able to predict it accurately.
From wildlife and underwater photographer Dmitry Kokh. He was onboard the world's largest and nuclear powered icebreaker, the Arktika. Kokh has a large body of work in his legacy. Story - https://www.glacierlodgeeqi.com/exclusive-photos-of-a-polar-bear-mother-with-her-3-cubs-at-the-north-pole/

Awesome article on this kick-ass icebreaker, "Russia’s New Icebreaker, The World’s Largest, Is Heading To The Arctic" - https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/36637/russias-new-icebreaker-the-worlds-largest-is-heading-to-the-arctic-for-the-first-time
The man clearly got lost.
