It's artificial conflict between the two as the media and establishment are desperate to stop both of them but Trump more.
Even that recent 'beef' where Trump 'smacktalked' Desantis a bit during a rally was overplayed and was probably Trump knew how ahead he was in the governor race so did a little diss to basically say he's the top dog. Trump will probably run in 2024, win and commence his revenge arc and Desantis is 2028 when everything has been purged.
My thoughts exactly. And the left better lube up because Trump first term was nice. Very nice. Second term Trump with nothing to lose is going to ass fuck them. If for no other reason now, simply out of spite. And it will be glorious to watch. Once they're beaten and demoralized and dirtied, Desantis can have Trump's sloppy seconds in 2028.
The establishment doesn't care whether DeSantis or Trump is the nominee. They're astroturfing DeSantis because they want a bloody primary battle in the GOP. The Dems are almost certain to have one, and if the GOP coalesces around one candidate early on, they'll have more party unity and voter solidarity going into 24.
If true, a massive miscalculation. Trump had a lot of conservatives I know shaking their heads and vowing #NeverTrump, but DeSantis hasn't evoked that reaction as far as I can tell. Most* overwhelmingly approve, and I say most* because my sample size is definitely too small to rule out "pretty much all".
But who knows when Operation Mockingbird kicks into gear and installs the #NeverDeSantis firmware update in the NPCs.
The media programming is there, but what about the brainwashing? Normies currently believe Trump tried to stage a coup, whereas normies have only just been introduced to Desantis. Desantis's covid strategy paid off as his state did just as well as everyone else, yet the economy was not held back. That was the one thing the media could have tagged to desantis, and it failed.
Trump is never the type of person you back-stab. You only get one shot with him. When he comes back to power, he's not forgetting who fucked him over.
DeSantis is baby-face new, and hasn't been absolutely trashed and threatened with imprisonment by people who he thought were his friends.
I like DeSantis, but Citadel wants to get close to him nice and early to use him as controlled opposition. Boris Johnson is what they want to do to both, but Trump will absolutely hold a grudge.
One is a loud-mouthed lout who has charisma and charm. The other is a bowl of warm oatmeal with all the presence of said soggy mash.
They make a great team, but require the correct set of circumstances to get elected. DeSantis has favor in Florida, but his nation-wide appeal is waning as the scamdemic fades from everyday awareness. This is why he has put such a rush on these last 18 months to pass legislation. He's boring, he's good-ole-boy, he's everything irritating about southern rich white elites. The man is oatmeal.
Trump is ruled by his id. He has good instincts when it comes to marketing himself, and he's not afraid to fight his opponents, but he lacks focus, and guiding principles.
His narcissism leads him to make mistakes, like surrounding himself with bozos who suck up to him, and turning on competent people who offend him or challenge his greatness. Also things like claiming the voting was rigged in Georgia, which caused a sharp drop in turnout of Republican voters, and the loss of Republican control of the senate.
He couldn't even get a meager few billion to build the border wall when the Republicans controlled the house. And now we're throwing $50 billion a month to "help" Ukraine protect their border.
I think he cares about the country, but he cares about his ego more, and he would rather the Democrats win and the country burn than the Republicans choose another candidate.
DeSantis has some of Trumps good features. He's pugilistic with the media, and calls them on their bullshit. He leans more populist than RINO. But he is more focused and doesn't make the unforced errors that Trump does.
He's had numerous victories in Florida. He kept the state open during COVID, despite being constantly smeared by the press, and it turned out he was right.
He pushed bills to stop groomer teachers from talking sex and gender to third graders. Got Disney's tax breaks revoked when they decided to push groomer shit. Recently got "gender affirmative" treatment for minors banned.
Florida's response to the hurricane showed that DeSantis has picked competent people to whom he can delegate and get things done. The media desperately wanted to turn it into another Katrina, but he was building things back before they could even report they were broken.
Whether his success in Florida can translate to success in the White House, I don't know. I do think, however, that the media is more scared of DeSantis than Trump right now. I think that's also why Trump started attacking DeSantis. It threatens his ego that there may be a rising star that may outshine him.
I also think the media wants there to be infighting, and I think ultimately they're going to do for 2024 exactly what the did in 2016, push for Trump to be the candidate, because this time, they'll totally win.
I think if the Republicans don't nominate Trump, he will take his Forever Trumper base and run as an independent, and the Democrats will win.
Yeah, I think when all is said and done, DeSantis is the better politician for sure but I meant more in regards to their values/beliefs in what they would try to accomplish. They seem mostly the same. Although DeSantis might "get more done", he also would likely be far more willing to compromise to get things done while Trump was not so willing. The compromising isn't necessarily a good thing. Sometimes it's better to do nothing then make bad deals. I think overall between the two, it would probably still be a wash in terms of good they do for the country. I don't think either represent the radical change most people want.
Imaging getting baited into thinking Ron would run against an incumbent, much less Trump. We should know before the end of the month if Trump plans on running and I have no doubts he plans on running for 2024.

Rather than the sexual references, how I'd like to imagine Trump's second term
Just replace the opposing force with leftists, deep state and establishment
I like that scenario. Hope it comes to pass.
DeSantis and Trump are pretty much the same person. I'm not sure what the difference is.

Jokes on them, I'm not afraid of a bloody primary battle. May the best man (Trump) win. We'll unify after the bloodbath.
If nothing else, than to make the cunts who really did vote for Biden suffer. Maybe they'll all die from apoplexy.
Desantis presents himself better, and the programming against him is no nearly as entrenched as Trump.
The media programming is there, but what about the brainwashing? Normies currently believe Trump tried to stage a coup, whereas normies have only just been introduced to Desantis. You guys sure love your kabuki theater.
That's politics, baby!
Absolutely.
