In his 16 years as head Republican in the senate (10 years as minority leader, 6 as majority leader), what major accomplishments does he have, other than helping to cement the reputation of Republicans as democrats driving the speed limit? In particular, what actions has he taken that were in opposition to women?
In the last couple months he even pulled funding from several close senate races, and spent some of that money running attack ads against a Republican candidate in Alaska.
Virtually anyone is better than McConnell, because it's hard to see how someone could be worse unless they were functionally caucusing with the Democrats.

Basically any US politician is gonna do that at this point, whether they say they're going to or not. It's become obvious that Russia can be beaten, possibly within the next year, and beating them will mean more geopolitical dominance secured for NATO.
I know it sounds like a sunk cost fallacy, but giving up on Ukraine now, with such a good chance of victory, is a wasted opportunity for the US.
