Going to hazard a guess it's basically a tactic to zombify their audience.
Common demoralization tactic is to say something which is demonstrably untrue, but ultimately have the final say in the matter, forcing people to willingly lie.
The more one thinks about it the more it sounds fucking disgusting. Like damn, and they really though this was a great idea, no? Probably the most disgusted I have been with fiction in a while, Bridget deserves better.
Which is why I make it a point to ignore them when they say crap like this.
The Koopalings are way more interesting as Bowser's kids and Jr.'s older siblings. There's such a fun dynamic there that gets thrown out for literally nothing.
Totally agree. I just ignore them when they say this sort of utter nonsense. When they do this stuff that they just proclaim despite it contradicting the established cannon, or inductively contradicts it, or just isn't generally supported by the cannon in any significant way but they just want to throw it in [say Dumbledore is gay thing originally] then I just ignore it and let my mind go elsewhere. They are just cheapening their own product when they do this stuff.

See: Bridget.
Ahh yes, the example of a abused-child character being totally A-Okay with their brainwashing upbringing.
Changing him from a tragic character into one who willingly submitted to their torture.

I personally think that Daisuke didn’t care back then, simply wanted a excuse to draw an effeminate boy in a habit, but started caring later on.

Aren't the Koopalings around the same size as an adult standard 'Koopa'?
So it wouldn't even make any sense for them to be anything but Bowsers children, they are just smaller versions of him with ridiculous hairstyles.

The Jr. thing always bugged me because there was already a junior: Morton.
