The media is absolutely a threat to the democracy, the republic, basic morals, human dignity, social order, and peace itself.
Hell, from what I've seen, the media is responsible for most race riots and damn near all lynchings, basically everywhere across the globe in all their forms. We seem to have a media actively trying to nudge people into accepting nuclear war; and they've already pushed well into depopulation as a moral imperative.
This "managed decline" stuff is such a cancer, it's an everlasting disappointment to me that the UK offers so few candidates who have not implicitly bought into this idea.
"Managed Decline" is just another way of saying, "Extracting wealth to China, so we can be the primary beneficiaries, because name one time the Communists would betray wealthy foreign investors and seize their wealth, idiot."
I suspect there's a higher chance of older people remembering some of the stuff the modern media so desperately wants memory-holed as they were there personally.
