Like there are cases when the families of criminals want to meet their victims/their families, for understanding, for trying to help, for showing sympathy, for feeling some connection through sharing a traumatic experience.
And those come without a child, an actual human being who is the result and is not guilty of anything.
They automatically assume malicious intent of the family. What if they want to support the child?
