Am I mistaken or does there seem to be a hatred of heterosexual relationships in Hollywood? I’m so sick and tired of modernizations of classics or the need to “reflect the modern world”. There was a time when it was rare that you saw a modern twist on a classic like Tin Man (back when sci fi channel catered to their fans) and Forbidden Planet is based on The Tempest. But now you know exactly what they are going fo me when they say this crap
No, I saw this one for what it is too. The concept of love is intensely tied to monogamy and family. That’s why sex needed to become unemotional, why women are taught to use men, why having a heterosexual preference is bad and that exploring sexual whims is more important than a stable relationship.
They kiss ass to get in (the usual hazing/induction ceremony) but not all of them had to do that; hell, Hollywood is in its 5th generation now. Once in, they marry each other. And then their kids marry each other. And the grandkids marry, say, newscasters/"journalists". Maybe ones who are related to families of politicians. Don't look at the first-gens, or even the Gen-X kids from The Outsiders. Go back to the original Barrymores and Masseys and such and look at family trees ...
This is how you get the beginnings of "nobility", but in this case, Hollywood functions more like an incestuous, cultish new Church, whereas it's the Merchant class that is jockeying to be the new Nobility.
They're definitely against a female woman being in a long term relationship with a masculine man. You can still se relationships were the woman acts like a caricature of a man and the man is submissive, stupid and pathetic. It was part of that new RE series on Netflix - that was some horrible cringe crap.
Have you heard of political lesbianism? It's been a thing for over 30 years as part of feminism. Society accepted it as sane and normal and now we're surprised it evolved into anti-cis hetro normative?
No, it's where ugly hetero women date and marry women out of pure misandry, then proceed to routinely beat the shit out of each other because of their barely-suppressed desire for dick.
There's a seething hatred of everything that's good in this world coming from Hollywood. In a sense it does "reflect the modern world", because Hollywood isn't the only place it's coming from, western civilization in the past few decades has been consumed by it.
Not having read the article yet, I don't know that the relationship is being scrapped. I think the issue is that feminists have taken past endings with "love" to mean eventually becoming a belabored housewife. So they want other outcomes to make up a better happy ending.
I mean that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. Some women are happy staying at home and others aren’t. I guess I’m just very wary about these things in the time we live in

Hollywood had openly celebrated hedonism for what 60 years now? The “true love” denial is because they want to completely eradicate monogamy.
Thank you. At least I don’t feel crazy now.

How dare you state the truth!
Women aren't taught to use men, it's innate.
Well, except for the Hollywood family dynasties .. which are also intertwined with political dynasties, and I'm sure, business ones as well.

What is that exactly? Is that where women date women in college and then marry men afterwards?

I need to watch Tin Man again.
It’s on Tubi. Well it was last year. That’s when I re watched
I think it's still there, I just saw an advert for it.

Good point
