Came here to say this. This winter will be even worse for Russia than the last because they have even worse equipment today than they did then, namely winter uniforms, material for heating, etc. Fuel for heating especially is going to be sparse since ammo/fuel dumps are getting HIMARSed and the only remaining rail connection to the south (Kerch bridge) will be (fully) out of action soon.
But the US is dicking around and only feeding Ukraine just enough to hold Russia off, presumably to attrite Russia as much as possible.
Also worth keeping in mind that at the start of the war the same US officials thought Ukraine would buckle in a couple of days.
Lastly, and this is for the bootlickers in the thread: anyone who hasn't had their head up their ass for the past 30 years knows that negotiating with Russia is about as sensible as negotiating with an ant colony. They never stick to their agreements and any agreement they sign is only ever a ploy to gain more time. The only way to get Russia to behave is to smash them upside the head until they fuck off and don't come back for fear of getting smashed again.
The sign behind the MT-LB, also a whole bunch of photographers arrived at this spot and focused on this particular frozen bro from all sorts of angles, and so he became a symbol, but ignored all of his friends lying nearby, and the other vehicles from the column too unless they got in the frame.
I'm also a photographer and would do the pictures in this place differently than most did. (I know the scene layout from videos.)
Let's say you arrived there and you walked away a bit (all my homies hate unexploded ordnance) from the others in the trip and you shoot this:
It's okay (pretty well composed) but nothing special, anyone could do it with their phone nowadays, so you can do it like that and make it artsy and personal:
Now that's much better as a professional photo, but when you have something really prominent and symbolic right there in the background you shouldn't just ignore it for the sake of focusing on the human aspect alone.
My speculation is that Russia is just waiting for winter to set in.
