Unironically, it is. I have seen some of the stories created by the SJW Brigade where they decided to actually try and create an original story. 9/10 times, they are even more nonsensical than the stuff they come up with by race swapping and plot reworking on established IP.
Because, you know, these are mostly people who were given their spots through nepotism and/or political favor, and have no idea in the slightest how to actually do a story.
Just look at the books that win awards now in the fantasy or sci fi arenas. They are so obsessed with the diversity checklist they don’t get around to a story
Which is a pseudo remake of Blacula from 1973, which has a the "representation" the wokies could ever ask for. Black vampire? Done! Gay representation? Sure! There are two male interior decorators who live together!
I’m honestly surprised when an adaptation has a main character that looks like they are described in source material. I refuse to watch race/gender swaps anymore. Beyond ridiculous
It upsets me terribly to even think about fan fiction with my characters. I advise my readers to write your own original stories with your own characters. It is absolutely essential that you respect my wishes.

I don’t ever want to read about my characters in someone else’s writing. It’s too upsetting for me, because they are mine and from my mind.
Funny how quickly that goes out the window for a quick buck.
This could've easily been prevented by people saying "just because he steals people's blood doesn't mean he has to be black, you racist hollywood fucks!"
When the movie came out in 1994 there was a controversy that Tom Cruise had been selected for Lestat. So when they say "if you don't like X being played by a black actor you're racist", I'm reminded of this.
Its more realistic this way. You'd be hard pressed to assemble more than three people from New Orleans without two being black.
They also kept the only character anyone ever cared about a hot blonde pretty boy, because this series literally only exists for women to get horny over. Including the original author, who whined about Tom Cruise playing him in the first adaptation then changed her mind when she wet herself for him.
The funniest thing about this one is the completely changed the setting to make sure a black character worked.
The entire plot revolves around the need to jam a black vampire into this. It is absurd.
My response is always “then write your own story with a black vampire”
Or just make another Blade which would be better than this gay story anyways
tbh if they did Blade they'd probably make him a tranny since black males aren't oppressed enough
Yep. Vampire in Brooklyn. I guess it’s so hard for them.

Sounds like they basically did. They simply slapped an existing name with widespread recognition on it because they can't stand on their own merits.
Because they want to destroy white literature and replace it with their own feeble clone abomination
Wasn't the Queen of the Damned already black?
But she desired a consort who is white, and the wokies can't have that
So it involve's Lestat's butthole I assume?

You know she's dead right?
Yes. I also realize that the deal for this TV show happened well before she died.

At least Tom bleached his hair for the role. And he did a pretty good job of bringing Lestat's "joie devivre" to life.
Yeah, and he really nailed the role, too.
