I'm not sure why anyone at this point would assume that anything that's been declared "safe and effective" is either. I'm sure some actually are one or both of those things but who knows which ones.
To be fair, $11M is nothing in terms of government spending. I still agree it's nonsense, and shouldn't be the government's purview, but we just spent B-billions on both Ukraine (multiple times), and fucking IRSS agents. $11M is, and this is really fucking sad, not even a drop in the bucket. Like, I wouldn't complain if anything threw that sort of money in my direction, but as far as government spending goes? Nothing. Because they have near infinite money, despite producing essentially nothing. Because they steal it from us at gunpoint.

Like, just in a vaccuum, even if you assume all efforts are sincere, a country making 10x less money is pledging 10x more money, on what many find to be a causal relation.
