While I agree with Trump's judgment that riots would be counterproductive, I will point out an Auron McIntyre quote: the side that wants to win will always beat the side that is trying not to lose.

Bear in mind that on 1/6, the total number of people willing to actually raise a ruckus for Trump was only a few dozen. Behind them were a couple hundred tourists, a number of whom we know for a fact were left wing. The Left turned this little incident into their Reichstag moment and haven't let go of it ever since. They have absolutely no fear that the Right is going to rIsE uP. If they did, they wouldn't be acting like they are.
If Trump gets imprisoned for some bullshit, people will be outraged and more motivated to vote against the Democrats, but there isn't going to be some huge social movement backing him. Nobody is going to be willing to go to war over him.
