'Spaz' became a slur practically overnight when the BBC decided to put a guy with cerebral palsy on children's TV and introduce him as a spastic.
Children across the country then went to school the following morning and impersonated this guy endlessly, and comparing their classmates to him. That was in 1981. They were still impersonating him over 20 years later when I left the school system. I wouldn't be surprised if they're still impersonating him, with no idea of which individual they're impersonating - as was the case when I was in school.
My gut says she/Capital Records/Sony Music intentionally made this obviously benign mistake and that’s why this beautiful gesture she’s making in changing the word is being amplified and spread all over the news cycle like anyone in real life actually gave a shit.
I haven't heard anyone use "spaz" (the correct spelling) since high school, 1974-78. Or maybe in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High." It's a clipped version of "spastic."
Leftists getting their panties in a wad over language makes me aware of what slang to use. Fucking retarded spazzes, every last one of 'em.
I used to watch an English retrogamer who liked yelling at his games and it took me the longest time to realize geezer is a completely different insult over there.
Post Reported for: Misleading title due to typo
OP meant Spaz
Intended for humor, I admit.
You're 4 months late.
Both sides of the atlantic do it to eachother.
It's absurd in both cases.
Tbf the English just bend over and take it from behind when Big Tech orders them to stop saying cunt and fag. Cucked wankers the lot of em.
Oi, yer gotcher loicense fer that fag!?

Also, people unironically calling human blackberry Lizzo "ableist."

Good call. I agree.
Seems a little spastic to me. They must be suffering with a case of the tism.

Not surprising to me that being black + being a woman > having cerebral palsy.
Technically, it's the verb of gypsy.
There are lots of words that can be verbs. I got nigged in traffic today and it pissed me off.
