Yeah, "The Boys" is all in with Trump = Homelander = Homicidal Nazi. There must be a based writer or two still left, though, because they slipped in a bit where the MSM called Starlight's (true) claims "baseless" or something similar, which the real MSM does to Trump.

Very few shows get better after the first season, most get worse. And mostly because of The Message pushing.
Ozark had an amazing first season but 2 and the rest of the series turned into "stronk wamen" and sidelined the much more interesting male lead, with 4 going full anti Christian.

season 1 is pretty good to be fair, the books themselves are probably not to the taste of most people, disregarding plots or politics. they're written in very short and direct/simple sentences as if it's written by Reacher himself (maybe that's the meta?) it's less noticeable and less annoying playing on sped up audio book
I think I have a reacher book. But I’m a huge reader. I’ll watch season one. I think that plot you described would’ve been fine some years back but we are over saturated with white supremacy plots
White supremacy plots were perfectly fine until we found out that white supremacy = not enthusiastically condoning the targeted destruction of your own ethnicity, race, culture, nation, etc.
Reminds me of standup comedians cracking jokes about “whites”. When everyone was fair game, I laughed at those jokes against my race. Now we know that those jokes are born of anti-white hatred, so I’m no longer laughing.

The issue is that there never really were Huwhite Supreme Pizzas of the cartoon villain variety. They were all normal people, some of whom might've been screwed up misfits, who basically just wanted to live a life without having to worry about a black dude raping their girlfriend, killing their dog, or them.
The first few books are decent pulpy speed reads. The later ones do get pretty woke. Lee Child is a solid lefty.

I started a few days ago and am on episode 5. It is fun enough and would recommend you giving it a try. Obviously no "my favourite show" material, but I don't remember cringing at scenes.

Even if they make it a white supremacist militia, if they make it accurate to actual white supremacist militias, I don't have an issue with it. Because I don't associate White supremacist militias to conservatives at all. Quite the opposite, most are little communist shitbags.
For all we know though, it'll just be a generic militia that lives in the mountain and nothing of their motives will be said or mentionned, because frankly it's unimportant. The story revolves around how they kidnap a FBI agent. Making them just a generic anti-Government Militia fits the story narrative better.

in the book it was mentioned in like one sentence, the rest are pretty much just action scenes and the main characters interacting with the militia are white so the militia members did not press that point. but if I were a subversive producer I would race swap the kidnapped general's daughter to black and have the militia kidnappers call her nigger in every scene and have them act as stereotypical red neck as possible and make everything about their political dissents about race
