Many actors back then we’re hired to look like stereotypes as it was comedy. Better comparison is to look at old photos of movie lines in 1980s and earlier to now (particularly Star Wars lines as they are more common.)
You’d be surprised how much demeanor, clothes, and hair style can make a difference in how people look. The styles nowadays just make everyone look like kids.
Almost all of that is presentation, so I'll just call it mental illness. Get a man's haircut and drop the commie glasses. If that's the best mustache you can grow then shave it off. I've never looked my age, I could pass for young 20s with the right presentation and I'm pushing 40. I decide to try to look like an adult instead.
Considering Norm had testosterone levels 70-80 percent higher, because the world wasn’t a poisonous shithole hell bent on crushing masculinity it comes as no surprise to me that all grown men today are basically women with enlarged clitorises.
(The actor who plays) Norm wasn't 34 in that picture, he was 39, because this picture isn't from 1983, it's from 1987. It's the picture in the sidebar for his Wikipedia article, which explicitly states that this picture is from season 5.
This is what Norm looked like at 34. If he wasn't morbidly obese, he'd probably look about as young as the guy on the right. Of course, both are guaranteed to be wearing makeup, so the entire comparison is meaningless.
No doubt Frasier as a foppish intellectual would probably be considered a liberal, but there really wasn't much in the show that was political at all. The only thing I remember off the top of my head was an episode where Frasier's dad supported a candidate that Frasier and Niles didn't like. So they supported some other guy who ended up believing in alien abductions (egg on their face).
Yeah, that rings a bell. I think there was something about gun control too. Never watched much cheers.
What's also funny is that the Niles actor is gay, the Bulldog actor is gay, it's rumored that Frasier's dad actor was gay (though not out), and the Gil Chesterton actor is gay. That's like half the cast, and yet it wasn't at all a "woke" in-your-face show.

What strikes me is the absolute lack of fat people (except one guy).
Don't forget all the pissed out estrogen/etc hormones.
Although the others certainly play a part, I think the combined impact of education, tech, and pharma is fucking massive.
According to VSauce the picture of George Wendt is actually from season 4 (or something like that) so he's actually like 37 or 38 in that picture.

NORM and Norma.

Looks more like Jewnetics.
Liberal Frasier? Dude (Kelsey Grammer) endorsed Trump.
