I like some of the rock bands coming out of Japan these days, but it's very niche and sometimes leans on gimmicks (i.e. Band-Maid) so I don't always feel comfortable recommending it to everyone. Great music though.
Ah, so you enjoyed his later works! Personally, I think peak Uematsu was Dancing Mad, from a technical skill standpoint. JENOVA is some good listening though.
Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock 'n' roll
-places vinyl record on turntable-
-sets needle-
-hits play-
-Final Fantasy 8 boss music starts playing-
You really can't beat the classics.
There is good new music being made, it's just modern pop music that's gone to hell.
Modern pop music ?
Go listen to the 80s one hit wonders of pop. It was shit back then too.
You best not be talking shit bout the 80s boy

Babymetal or bust.
Play some man with the machine gun for me please, FF8 had some all time favorites.
People are so dumbed down toward music anymore. "Man that OS for Elden Ring was fire!"
I was always more of a JENOVA man myself.

Dancing mad is fantastic. I honestly like most of his work. I listen to Distant Worlds regularly and am on the lookout for a live performance locally.
