We haven't lived in a lawful society for a long time. 60s and 70s left wing terrorists mostly received slaps on the wrist at the time and many were later pardoned. They now occupy positions of authority in the power structure of the regime.
If the jury pool had randomly chosen someone sympathetic to his beliefs, and that someone had had the courage to engage in nullification, then this murderer’s crime would have magically become justified? Terrible logic.
Strongly disagree. I think media and government's demonization of vigilantes has led us to our current state of high crime and dependence on a system that doesn't care about us. Not saying I'm entirely against professional police or believe in defunding them, but the first line of defense should be individual property owners and neighborhood militias. And yes if thugs are causing serious problems to the peace of the neighborhood, you should take care of it and nobody should hear anything more. Wasting public resources making the police solve everything should be the option of last resort.
Now obviously if someone is being The Punisher and going around killing people without trials, the law is going to have to go after them, and that's a risk they have to weigh. The fact that they are taking that risk makes them heroic. I would prefer the public not demand the police investigate unless it's really egregious vigilantism.
So how are things at FBI HQ? Sunny weather this morning?
You're so smart.
How did you decipher the cryptic meaning behind "A guy sitting in jail saved countless lives. I wish I was there with him when the news broke"
Was it a new Q drop? I heard he came back recently.
You Gay Awakeners keep thwarting our plans, but we'll be back!
You can't just go and murder people in a lawful society.
He would still get away with it if the jury or even the judge found his actions justified or sympathetic, but they didn't. End of story.

Baby-killers arent people.
How lawful is a society in which sentences are determined by gender, skin color or political affilitation?
Very lawful, actually- as long as they do everything through legal means. Fortunately, legal != moral. So, what you should be asking is:
This isn't a comic, vigilantes - particularly those who murder - are not heroes.
Gary Plauche.
Honestly, that's a fair point. Might be that one case where head and heart don't reconcile.
That's different.
Are the cops who protect groomers and baby killers heroes then?
Comic heroes are gay, because they dont end the bad guy.

Guess we should all just lay down and die then.
