Strongly disagree. I think media and government's demonization of vigilantes has led us to our current state of high crime and dependence on a system that doesn't care about us. Not saying I'm entirely against professional police or believe in defunding them, but the first line of defense should be individual property owners and neighborhood militias. And yes if thugs are causing serious problems to the peace of the neighborhood, you should take care of it and nobody should hear anything more. Wasting public resources making the police solve everything should be the option of last resort.
Now obviously if someone is being The Punisher and going around killing people without trials, the law is going to have to go after them, and that's a risk they have to weigh. The fact that they are taking that risk makes them heroic. I would prefer the public not demand the police investigate unless it's really egregious vigilantism.
This isn't a comic, vigilantes - particularly those who murder - are not heroes.
Gary Plauche.
Honestly, that's a fair point. Might be that one case where head and heart don't reconcile.
That's different.
Are the cops who protect groomers and baby killers heroes then?
Comic heroes are gay, because they dont end the bad guy.

Guess we should all just lay down and die then.
