Their political philosophy is pretty extreme, so some of their proclamations can seem a little out there.
I can't seem to find a good site for archiving reddit posts right now, but here's a discussion from the anarcho capitalist community about the initial Reason article on the takeover.
I am very glad that people who have read Hoppe are in charge of the LP. It was very refreshing to hear Angela just outright say that she hates democracy on Timcast.
I can't imagine we get anywhere in our democratic system by being honest, but after the completely pyrrhic victory that was Trump, I don't give a shit about winning anymore if we "win" while still somehow losing everything that matters.
I'm not too familiar with Angela, but everything I have seen recently seems very based. And I'm a big fan of Dave Smith and that group. Libertarians took over the Libertarian Party and, even if they don't get big results, it's still a massive improvement, and people are having a grand old time if nothing else.
Angela is really good. I saw her speak live one time, and I was actually inspired. She is genuine, passionate and smart. I'm not even a lolbert anymore, but I still like her.
They've done nothing but attack the LP and the Mises Caucus since this whole thing. Heck, they're even quoting Sarwark here.
At least the article itself doesn't seem too bad, but they always have to get that dig in in the title. Just like when they had "some critics accuse them of racism" or something to that effect.
I like plenty of Reason's stuff, but in other ways they're a complete joke.
I don't know why this surprises you. Reason are the propaganda machine for the other wing of the LP. They've always pushed for it to be a controlled opposition joke party. They lost.
I used to like Reason way back in the day, and then it just got... boring. Normie-tier points about weed good, immigration good, taxes bad. Some of their writers have done a good job tracking police abuses, though, long before BLM.
I appreciate it for being a beacon when, to my knowledge, not a lot of dissident right publications were around. Or at least I didn't have access to them.
You misunderstand, their shit is "together" by sticking up for Sarwark and attacking the LPMC. They're doing exactly what they're meant to do, be controlled opposition.
The good news is, Sarwark is reduced to trying to fund specious lawsuits against the rightful board of the Libertarian Party of Idaho (the party has like 20 members).
Mises Caucus supporters say they want to "make the Libertarian Party libertarian again," that it should no longer be concerned about offending progressives or Beltway types
Part of the LP is set on winning elections. I'm not joking. While a very, VERY distant third, there are some LP elected officials, and they want there to be more. That puts some severe limits on what your positions can be. It's hard enough to get elected just without a R or a D next to your name. Much less being actually controversial. There's a wing that wants to be as unthreatening as possible to sort of sneak into political power through the backdoor.
Most other 3rd parties, with the possible exception of the Greens, are more interested in advocacy and making political points, with the full knowledge that they're not going to win.
Truth is it hasn't always been Republicans and Democrats in American history, though there has rarely been more than 2 major parties. More likely, I think, than a 3rd party rising to prominence is either the Rs or the Ds balkanizing along ideological lines, with one faction eventually winning and the other disappearing. The electoral system virtually guarantees that there will be 2, whatever they are called.
This sounds like a good reason to support them.

Reveddit is a pretty good tool

Yeah, she's sharp.
Reason needs to get their shit together, fuck.

I didn't say I was surprised. You're correct, this is pretty on point for them.
I used to like Reason way back in the day, and then it just got... boring. Normie-tier points about weed good, immigration good, taxes bad. Some of their writers have done a good job tracking police abuses, though, long before BLM.

Fuck that ratfuck.
Fair enough. Shame, though, as like I said, some of their stuff is pretty good.
Sounds like a good start.
if the enemy isn't crying, you're not winning
If your enemy isn't calling you shitposting edgelords, you're not winning.
This is the only time I've been interested in the Libertarian Party (big L, big P) since...ever. It's historically been a bunch of misfit crackpots.
Striking bigotry (what a fucking useless concept) from the party platform? Heck yes.
"Libertarian Party? Kinda gay." - Every famous libertarian ever, basically.
Nice actual libertarians took over, finally. #Based.

Giga-based!
Comedians takeover Clown-World. Honk Honk at 11.
A comedian may very well run for president, from the third largest political party in America.
Make America Free Again.
Because that worked out so well for Ukraine.
Difference being this is a based comedian, and not a globalist shill.
