I hate when they say queer characters aren’t political. It gets political when you massively over represent a population and double down on it despite clear evidence it doesn’t sell. Same with pushing a black character on the basis they are black and using character to push the racism narrative.
Or perhaps we can look at constantly gender swapping or pushing women into traditionally male hobbies or genres and attacking criticism as sexist.
The people saying "everything is political" are the ones putting politics into everything.
Schrodinger's Politics.
Launguage police here: it isnt queer amymore because that word has been successfully subverted. Use pervert or degenerate.
Gotcha. Lol.
I'm not sure I understand. Queer is subverted how? Queer = faggot = homosexual = non-binary= trans, although trans is an order of magnitude more perverse and degenerate with self-mutilation as part of its doctrine.
queer has been normalized into a political collective and to no longer has a negative connotation. The public perception no longer that matches what it really represents: sex obsessed narcissists who are mentally ill to the point where they can't stop themselves from indulging in their fetishistic behavior in public.
Universities have departments of queer studies, there are no departments of perversion or degeneracy or faggotry. That is why we should use those words rather than the words the enemies of civilization want us to use.
Good points.
Tokenism has always been tacky at best. In most cases, it was used as a writing foil having the character play up to racist stereotypes for the purpose of keeping the audience familiar despite telling a story with unfamiliar characters and a potentially confusing plot.
There are basically 2 arguments from the Woke Left about what is and isn't politics.
and
The first argument is to get to people accept the Woke Left's politics as a normal thing that good people just accept, to make people think that only a "bad person" would question the Woke Left's politics.
The second argument is to get people to accept when the Woke Left injects their politics into non-political stuff, especially media. The Woke Left wants to subvert non-political media with their politics so their politics won't be seen as political but instead seen as "normal" & "good', thus feeding into the first argument.
By the same logic. Queer characters not existing is also apolitical.
"queer" is inherently political.
Exactly. The heterosexual relationship exists as an apolitical dominant group within society as it is the basis for society and the major group from which all others spring.
Heterosexuality has zero government protection & promotion. Convincing a heterosexual child that he or she is gay is not illegal in any state while doing the reverse is considered conversion therapy that in at least 12 states that I'm aware is illegal. Here's a exercise: Go to any search engine and look for heterosexual summer camps. You'll find none. Do the same for gay summer camps. You'll find aplenty. Heterosexuality has no institution (marriage) that is uniquely protected by government.
The sub-groups, homosexuality, bisexuality, non-binary and transsexuality are all politically active groups that receive both government backed protection and promotion with ever increasing breadth across our social fabric influencing a younger and younger audience year over year. If one doesn't believe it, one merely needs to examine the over representation of homosexuality in education and popular media.
He's right, it's political the moment you pretend that's ok
