Very much so. I loved his dedication to his friends at the end of A Scanner Darkly. I hate the Amazon prime Man in the High Castle. Started good but went into crazy directions

Exactly my thoughts (on the TV series).

Despite knowing that Hollywood will tend to fuck up anything remotely related to Nazis, I gave the series a try and was pleasantly surprised.

But then after the first season it all got too crazy too quickly. But it was worth it just for seeing Japanese imperial troops armed with type 64s and also because Alexa Davalos is just great eye candy.

Definitely. A Scanner Darkly and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep/Bladeunner are also about unreliable identity or memories. Paycheck is kind of like that too. Presumably others I haven't read as well. He was a man obsessed, but that obsession made for some really interesting books and stories.

His real life was as out there as his books.

So I’ve heard. I have a book where it’s just his essays. Can’t wait to read that

His books are insane. He could write thousands of words in a day.

I read A Scanner Darkly. Oddly the movie is one of the better book adaptations I've seen of any book and though it's been a long time I can't remember any major points of the book that the movie missed. It was faithful and suitably weird.

And also had Alex Jones in it

I read Ubik. That was a fun mind screw.

I’ve read Android’s Dream, and Flow my Tears the Policeman Said. Both are good. He has a great knack for describing absolutely hellish dystopias like few authors can, as well as playing with fun and out there ideas. A wacky guy, but a gifted author too.

Yep. He has a short story that's anti abortion as well iirc.

Yes! Pre-persons. Very good. About a society that allows you to kill kids up to 12 years old

I read a couple of his books but I hate him. The movies are all obviously amazing but a lot of his stories are way too weird to the point they don’t even really make sense. It could just be cope because I can’t follow his highbrow sci-fi themes or something, but they just feel dated in a way that a lot of other good books in the genre don’t.

I guess I’ve always liked his weirdness

When I read Second Variety i thought he was a genius.

When the first Terminator film came out i thought they used this novelette to inform the back story of the Terminators.

Books are really good as well. But yes they did a good job on the movies. Do Androids Dream is a great book and Blade Runner is a classic
