The Year Zero attitude is maybe the most infuriating thing about the feminists and race hustlers. These fucks are so desperate to be seen as civil rights trailblazers that they systemically ignore all previous minority representation. It’s gaslighting, and not the fraudulent leftist version. Nothing they say makes any sense unless you pretend that people like billy dee Williams and Samuel Jackson haven’t already broken these “barriers”.
That’s really what most of leftism comes down to: pretending not to know things. Sundance over at TCT says this all the time. These people have adopted a pantomime of ignorance that is designed to lure everyone into a false belief that leftists are incompetent. They aren’t incompetent. They are deceitful and malicious. They know that they are lying, and they don’t care. All that matters is the revolution.
I felt weird with them acting like she was the first black person in the series when Lando was a recurring and beloved character. His position was about as high as it goes too. They even brought him back for Mando. He’s about as black as it gets.
I think it's less than that: the useful idiots just want attention- to stand out and get noticed. Like you said, they want to be trail blazers, but there's nothing left to discover or fight for. Bereft of anything substantive to fight for, they can only ignore what's gone before and try ever more specific sub-categories of "first X to do Y".
And it should. She openly shit on the fanbase and the property, calling them racist and mocking how little she know about anything despite trying to talk about its racism.
I'm quite tired of giving these people even the veneer of civility. Act like a dumb nigger, get called a dumb nigger.
I saw the first 2 that came out and she was glaringly bad in them. She just doesn’t fit. I’m not giant into Star Wars or know a lot about the nuances but part of it is because she’s some black lady because she’s part of some special unit where everyone looks all kinds of weird and she was made to still look like some black lady and positioned as the best because she’s some black lady. The other dudes look like they went through training and torture to get that rank. She just looks like some black lady and acts like one. They act like you’d expect some kind of creepy tortured super assassins to be. She just looks and acts like some black lady.
I guess. She’s just not believable or fitting in the show at all in the role she’s been given. I could see black chick from Walking Dead being good in it. Still probably out of place but if you made her look more Sithy even in a low key way that wasn’t white facing her, she’s a better actress. If they’re going to make her black. I wouldn’t really mind a black Sith lady. I’m not against making new characters with races you’re not used to seeing in those roles, they just tend to pick random people based on race or taking dicks in the butt and write shitty characters without flaws which are noncharacters.
Even Captain Marvel could have been a good character if she wasn’t a woke character. There’s no growth or progression or flaws. It’s just a walking piece of propaganda. That’s what black chick here feels like. She’s also not at all menacing to me. She does menacing things but doesn’t look the part and that’s a big deal when you’re a fucking actress playing a role.
If past events are a predictor of future events then he isn't wrong.
After the prequels, harassment from fans drove Jake Lloyd insane. He developed schizophrenia. Harassment was so bad for the actor that played Jar Jar Binks that he said he contemplated suicide. I seriously doubt that last statement, but the fact is there were many examples of harassment of the actors due to the disappointment many felt from the prequels. None of it was justified against the actors. They just happened to be the most easily identifiable targets.
Star Wars since has been one disappointment after the other with identity politics interjected at every turn. People have a right to be disappointed. Some will voice their disappointment. Others will lash out at what they rightfully see as identity politics.
Harassment was so bad for the actor that played Jar Jar Binks that he said he contemplated suicide
Its worth noting that little of the harassment was directed at him. People just hated his character so much and he took it personally. Very few people could even tell you his name, and it really only started being known when he did come out about his mental suffering from the role. I get putting your all into a character and then it being the literal laughing stock of the decade hurts, but its important to note he wasn't being straight attacked.
He was also black, for what its worth and yet no one ever cares to bring him up about the racist fanbase.
I just now learned who he was. The whole thing was CGI so I wouldn’t see how you’d even connect it to him. I didn’t like the character but I’d never actually connect it with a human being and if I found out someone I knew voiced him, I’d just think ‘cool!’
Yeah, that's how most people were. They barely connected the dots that the CGI had a costumed actor in the scene being replaced.
And unlike Lloyd, who was undermining a beloved character people had built up for decades, or Christensen, whose own direct performance is what people hated, he was just a dude doing the stupid shit Lucas wrote. There was no saving that particular writing.
Even if one were to accept the angle of harassment against him, the literal canon has been shitting on Jar Jar ever since to massive applause. And not even that long ago it was still going on. That's why they never bring up his story when they cry racism, because its sanctioned hatred.

Paki comedian guy was actually good in it.

His future career was Taken from him.
At least he was able to branch off into a second career in improvisational comedy.
If they don't want us to be racist, why did they hire an incompetent negress to play a shitty character?
Nobody cares about Disneys.
Was interested. Reminded myself of previous D+ material.
Didn't watch. Didn't care.
