  • straight kevlar isn’t very effective against typical hunting rounds, it’s more like a pistol vest material

  • the typical plates used in plate carriers are extremely effective against the rounds AR15s uses, so it obviously wouldn’t be a good choice if deer were going around in good armor

  • the federal government has become unworkable and a political solution is becoming very unlikely

If it boils down to a 2nd amendment issue, then it isn't, and has never been, about hunting. It's about watering trees, which is very different.

If it IS about hunting, then maybe there needs to be a nice big press conference on the durability and danger of feral boars and bears, which even if you're not actively hunting, will often be in the same region as things you are.
