Maybe I'm being sensitive but I'm getting kind of tired of the word diverse. The wedding here is described as emotional, intimate, and diverse. Is diverse just a catch-all word for good now? (archive.ph)

Diverse is not good, at least not obviously good, unlike healthy or happy. The goal for the left is to use it like it is obviously good until people start buying it.

As far as I can tell it has worked, I can see it in corporate training videos and such, diverse is considered a good thing and a goal to achieve without any reason of to why.

The truth is the opposite, things in common bring people together, not differences.

If you have a diverse group of engineers that are awesome, they are awesome because of their actual skill and ability. Pushing the idea that being diverse makes something better is absurd. Can be good but can be bad.

Even when it works is because the engineers have something in common, or at least they used to, they used to love what they did, they had passion and took pride in their work. I've not seen that in a long time.

The idea that diversity is a virtue in itself is not good at all. You can have diverse points of view, different ways to manage or resolve issues but the idea that diverse melanin levels would somehow magically make things better is ridiculous.

Is interesting how 6 years ago diversity was not thought of as something positive, companies knew it causes friction, you had to keep silent about politics, sports, religion etc., coincidentally we were also taught to be color blind. Now you must bring your entire self to work, politics and all, you are also not allowed to notice color but at the same time you must notice color because skin color diversity is important.

And the left has the audacity to call this progress.

That's the only way a pluralistic society can work, if you call that working. Ideally you'll still have a cultural norms from the dominant subgroup (say, Northern Europeans) imposed on everyone else for stability. People can't just do whatever they fuck they want and expect everyone else to cooperate.

And the biggest evidence of why diversity for the sake of it doesn’t work is the entertainment industry

I’d say I’m color blind in the sense that what I think of someone is based on their actions or how they are and not their race but you make valid points. The idea that it is a virtue in and of itself is crazy and you notice they never want diversity of opinion. Yea this whole being color blind is actually racist has caught steam. Crazy crazy world we live in my friend.

The progs have pushed the idea that diversity is the reason that the West is so successful.

This is false. The West is great because of meritocracy and despite diversity.

We let people come here, from everywhere and for a long time, because they were the best at what they did. We paid a cost for this in social coherence but, up until recently, it was controlled and much less than what we gained.

Then we got it into our heads that diversity was the thing to pursue instead of merit. So we just started bringing in tons of unskilled people and refugees, which destroyed social cohesion and bought nothing of value.

I'm waiting for the day they start describing cancer patients as cellularly diverse.
