I wish one of these would just tell them to piss off. I can't imagine the target audience for this movie overlaps much with the Twitter ragers enough to matter to their bottom line. Hell, I might would give their series a shot just because of them doing that when I've passed it over in the past.

These kinds of popularity polls are pretty common in Japanese media, with plenty aimed at women. Here's one that includes the male MC of Detective Conan (#7). Point is, women do this all the time. Yet somehow it's only wrong when it's men doing it.
Those types of polls are so popular in Japan this is almost a "right for the wrong reasons."
Because Japan loves to just makes polls and then do nothing but pander to them until everyone is sick of it. Many sectors of their media are almost written by democracy as reactions to poll content. Its physically painful to not be a "normie" in some fandoms because nothing but the top 1-3 choices will ever get anything.
