Yes but there are various other pipelines competing for that pleasure. They threw in with an Iranian pipeline a long time ago so they could form OPEC Jr. That way the competition isn't really competing. Controlling Ukraine and Ukrainian pipelines works toward solidifying that control by blocking other pipelines from the south.
