Very, very much this. Leftists are comfortable with their hypocrisy, they like it that way. Trying to wag a finger at them for being hypocrites is beyond pointless.
I'd be more surprised if someone wrote an article that they weren't being hypocrites than that they were. It's not a new tactic either. The bible was chock full of stories of hypocrites that are exactly like what we see today. However you feel about religion I think we can agree it's not exactly a modern publication.
