It kinda became bigger than it should have. People find it kind of funny, cause how exactly do you make M&M "progressive"? Turns out that you don't, you just claim that you are doing it, and BAM free publicity.
The culture war is real. This was one bubble that made it to the surface. Inside every company, woke cliques are vying for influence. They plant their flag for all to see, and it ends up funny, stupid and counterproductive. Along their way to power, they make their workplace hell, and true competent talent flees. This is happening in almost every company in the world.
