Honestly though Rogan probably didn't need to take any medications to fight WuFlu since he's in such good health. And there's a point to be made here that doing so is operating within your enemies' frame that coming down with the illness is a big deal, which puts you in a defensive position when you're trying to argue that the medical totalitarian state is unnecessary.

That said, the guy is wealthy enough he probably had people (including Spotify) yelling in his ear to do whatever he needed to do to get back to doing the show as quickly as possible. You never see any of these type of celebrities sick with a cold or anything like that even in the Before Time; wonder if this is the sort of stuff they normally do.

Taking medicine, even for a cold, isn't making it out to be a big deal. And fuck anyone who thinks I should suffer through an illness by rejecting modern medicine just so people don't think I'm making a big deal out of the illness.

In 2019 and prior, how many people were taking Invermectin and HCQ as part of their regular cold/flu treatment regimen? How many will continue to do so when this insanity over this particular respiratory virus eventually ends?

I started taking Vitamin D and Zinc last year because I read research that it correlated to less/non-existent flu symptoms. I've appreciated not getting the seasonal cold and morning stuffiness I used to always get come winter, so I will continue to do so even after WuFlu stops being a thing.

This to me is the dividing line: do you care about lessening the symptoms of respiratory viruses in general, or do you care about lessening WuFlu symptoms? If just the latter, is it because WuFlu poses greater risk to you than a regular cold/flu, or is it because the entire world lost its mind?

Frustrating that my 80+ parents think the vaccine is the only thing and refuse to look at anything else.

I'm like even if the vaccine worked and you don't get wuflu at that age you can still have a bad time with any flu or common cold so why not learn from the c19 therapy research... antiviral nose spray, antiviral gargle, zinc, vitamin d, etc.

But they get their news from NPR which never talks about any treatment only vaccine.

I believe that COVID is real, and is even slightly more deadly than the regular cold/flu, but is wildly blown out of proportion. If you hold this worldview, it seems perfectly reasonable to take additional medicines if you choose. It is completely reasonable to say that you shouldn't be afraid of a virus, but still take dedicated steps to minimize it when you get it.

Do what you want, but here's how the conversation with a WuFlu scaremonger will go down (and did go down with this Ethan Klein character):

I had COVID; wasn't that big a deal. Felt like crap a few days like I usually do when I get sick. Doesn't seem like the sort of thing we needed to shut everything down over

I see. What'd you take?

Oh, Ivermectin, monoclonal antibodies, HCQ. Threw the kitchen sink at the thing.

Cool. So you normally do that when you get a cold or flu, or was this a special thing?

Special thing.

So it's not a big deal, but you "threw the kitchen sink at it"? Seems kinda inconsistent.

Which is deflected by answering "yes I do this normally because I hate being sick any longer than I have to" or "no but I just learned about all this stuff and will be from now on because it's awesome"

Why not just allow your immune system to get its exercise

Sometimes that's a good idea, other times it's not. That's a personal decision for everyone to make. Most people don't believe that every ailment requires medication, but agree that some do. It's up to you to decide where that line is for you.

I'd take HCQ or IVM or monoclonal antibodies (if it were possible considering the first two are effectively banned and the last is being artificially restricted), but fuck if I'll take any of the horrifying pharma medicines. Molnupiravir and Remdesivir both cause RNA transcription to malfunction and Paxlovid is a protease inhibitor- as BAP recently said pharma is trying to make PrEP for straights.
