In 2019 and prior, how many people were taking Invermectin and HCQ as part of their regular cold/flu treatment regimen? How many will continue to do so when this insanity over this particular respiratory virus eventually ends?
I started taking Vitamin D and Zinc last year because I read research that it correlated to less/non-existent flu symptoms. I've appreciated not getting the seasonal cold and morning stuffiness I used to always get come winter, so I will continue to do so even after WuFlu stops being a thing.
This to me is the dividing line: do you care about lessening the symptoms of respiratory viruses in general, or do you care about lessening WuFlu symptoms? If just the latter, is it because WuFlu poses greater risk to you than a regular cold/flu, or is it because the entire world lost its mind?
Frustrating that my 80+ parents think the vaccine is the only thing and refuse to look at anything else.
I'm like even if the vaccine worked and you don't get wuflu at that age you can still have a bad time with any flu or common cold so why not learn from the c19 therapy research... antiviral nose spray, antiviral gargle, zinc, vitamin d, etc.
But they get their news from NPR which never talks about any treatment only vaccine.
Seriously, dude. This pandemic made me realize that boomers are fucking retarded with medicine and ANY specialty. its no wonder our country is so fucked up. these idiots would smoke crack if CNN told them it prevented covid anus
I believe that COVID is real, and is even slightly more deadly than the regular cold/flu, but is wildly blown out of proportion. If you hold this worldview, it seems perfectly reasonable to take additional medicines if you choose. It is completely reasonable to say that you shouldn't be afraid of a virus, but still take dedicated steps to minimize it when you get it.
Do what you want, but here's how the conversation with a WuFlu scaremonger will go down (and did go down with this Ethan Klein character):
I had COVID; wasn't that big a deal. Felt like crap a few days like I usually do when I get sick. Doesn't seem like the sort of thing we needed to shut everything down over
I see. What'd you take?
Oh, Ivermectin, monoclonal antibodies, HCQ. Threw the kitchen sink at the thing.
Cool. So you normally do that when you get a cold or flu, or was this a special thing?
Special thing.
So it's not a big deal, but you "threw the kitchen sink at it"? Seems kinda inconsistent.
Which is deflected by answering "yes I do this normally because I hate being sick any longer than I have to" or "no but I just learned about all this stuff and will be from now on because it's awesome"

If only it was just boomers. The histrionic screechers on peddit are mostly millennials. The politicians that are worst about it are mostly gen X.
