just wait and pirate it
not bothering to write an itemized review, it wasn't particularly subversive more than the previous ones - it was kind of empty with no real substance
it just wasn't even that much fun - it relied entirely on fan nostalgia mostly for the raimi series and self-referential "humor" and the multiple spider man thing was done better by spiderverse
if anything it is a showcase of how the marvel team is so strapped for ideas that they have to pull the good ones from the previous movies
I would put it in the bottom 3rd of marvel movies, not worth full attention but fine as background when you are doing something else
Aw, I was hoping Spiderverse was centered around the pig-guy I saw prominently featured in the ads. Bet he's bait and switch and only relevant for 1 2 minute scene, just like Godzilla in his own movies any more. :P
Yeah, Spiderverse was ok, but honestly the main character, Miles or whatever, to me was the most boring part of the movie [and in turn, too much of the movie was wasted on that character which wasn't very interesting]. I legit found nothing interesting about that character and only wanted to see more about ALL the other spidermen[womens] in the movie. Those characters were fun, while Miles just kinda was.... there....
He just was an annoying kid that got in the way of all the fun in the movie to me, and not even interesting enough to care for any character development into spiderman.
Maybe he is better in the comics or something?
From what /co/ says, Miles is even more boring in the comics, but also /co/ is full of retards. Still, Miles felt like the biggest mixed bag of what the hell is this character in the movie, by far the worst part of it.
I think it doesn't help that, there were a lot of just fun characters in that movie. The funny take on deadbeat peter parker, the pig, detective noir guy, etc...
and then you have Miles.... who just kinda is there and I guess he wears a hoodie and if he concentrates on a really dumb song he can go invis... also maybe he has electric powers?[it seemed like even the writers forgot he had that half way through the movie]
If the other characters were just as bland maybe he could have stood out... but he just kind of exists in a movie of way better spidermans that made me think I wish the movie was just about them :P
lmao nigger can't even afford a .com how pathetic.
If it's not very good, why even pirate it?
What do you mean, not watch MCU capeshit? Is that even an option?
I haven't seen it. Am thinking about it because I had heard good things. But then again, compared to all the trash that's come from.marvel this year alone, even mediocre must be incredible by comparison.
Can't help but think that's driving the positive coverage
it's just ok and nothing matters because it's just a big reset for mcu Spiderman
I just got bored with superhero movies a few years into Disney and the whole MCU thing before the woke-washing even became a point of thought for me. Apparently they print money for Disney as fast as the fed does for DC though.
I didn't mind the early 2000s Spider-Man movies though.
I’ve heard it wasn’t bad but I’ll wait to see it when it’s available. I still hate the casting of MJ.
So sick of the “women in fridges” argument. In my life I’ve read plenty of stories or seen movies where a woman gets revenge on the killer of her husband/father/son/brother.
Plus Zendaya is the poster child for unnecessary race swaps. And of course the mainstream sites love her.
But killing off his female love interest would be a great way for Spider-Man to realize that he's gay!
As far as I can tell, to me the MJ thing was just a cowardly cop out. They wanted to race swap MJ, but they were too scared to fully do it so they can call her MJ but then have the lame excuse "WELL it is a DIFFERENT MJ and not really Mary Jane but Michelle whatever."
That is my theory. Just a cowardly cop out where they want the race swap but are too scared to actually fully do it.
No one talking about Dr. Strange.
*they have to go back
*it doesn't matter if they'll die
*it's not our problem, their lives are meaningless
*Major death because of multiverse refugees
*cuckold still kissing fugee ass
*Strange finally helps clean up the ruins of society by sending them back, all of them good or bad
*The cleanup: may history forget we were ever countrymen, may you chains rest lightly upon you.
*End mixed race relationship, preventing genetic horrors
Bro's, it's a kids movie, but it was uplifting a.f.
I admire your optimism
Well if you end up seeing it, watch it with your own perspective on life, there's a good lesson in there they accidentally promoted. The good natured lessons in the movie were guaranteed not intentional.
I saw someone complain that the movie "ruined" Strange, and I had the opposite reaction where I thought Strange was absolutely correct, Parker was unbelievably irresponsible and Aunt May paid the price (which is sort of fitting because she encouraged Peter to be unbelievably irresponsible). "With great power comes great responsibility" what is responsible about risking billions of lives to save five tragically deranged people?
I think the complaint was that strange wouldn't have granted him the wish in the first place
I have only seen the trailer, but honestly as much as I like the idea of the multi-spidermans....
The whole premise from the trailer, if the trailer wasn't ling, just sounds SO stupid. I mean it legit makes Dr. Strange and Peter look kinda moronic. Like, oh no the memories are gone.... just freakin' tell her again or whatever [I forget it all been a while since I watched the trailer but it was something like this plus some others....]
I think EFAP has the right point in response to this.
The premise of Loki was absolutely stupid, because seeing a video in which 4 years of your life are replayed in front of your eyes is not at all the same as living through it. Similarly, just telling someone, "Hey, you're my best friend, you've been my 'guy in the chair' for 3 years while I've been Spiderman, we trust each other implicitly and you're the key to my success in life," doesn't create the emotional throughline.
Figured it wouldn’t be too good when the second film was a rehash of iron man 3.
It feels like the MCU is scared to have any character dislike their Spiderman. Flash Thompson (Now a 5 foot 5 indian dork) worships Spidy and his villains are "Guy who was screwed over by a government spook and Iron Man" "Mentally stunted computer geek who is mad at Iron Man" "Guy whose name wasn't remembered by a different Spiderman." "Guy who is just fucking shit up for shits and giggles."
