Stop avoiding jury duty. The way lawyers pick jurors already skews it towards the dumb and malleable. There is no need for the mildly clever to assist them by excluding themselves.
If you have an IQ over 70 they already do everything they can to exclude you. Both sides want people who they think they can manipulate into voting for them, because modern "justice" is about whose side can win, not about delivering justice to the people. They hate independent thinkers because independent thinkers are harder to program.
If you really want to change things, pretend to be an NPC right up until it's time to vote. If you really want to get off jury duty, just demonstrate any non-mainstream opinion during jury selection.
Agreed on all points. Deliberately or not, the system is structured such that even people of below average intelligence are disincentivized to actually want to serve, which makes the lawyers' jobs that much easier. We should not be assisting the regime by purposefully excluding ourselves from the processes in which it reluctantly invites us to participate.
In America they can only reject a certain number of jurors before they have to take whoever is left.
So even if the lawyers use a strike to remove you from the jury pool, you're tipping the jury more toward sanity just by not excluding yourself.
I was almost selected for jury duty in the spring. Jury sat through 2 months of trial just for the guy to confess days before deliberation. I'll pass.
If you ever end up on the wrong side of the state, and given that you are here that is increasingly more likely, you should pray that better people than you show up for their duty.
I never said I skipped jury duty, fuckwit. They had picked the jury before they even got to my group.
What did you mean by "I'll pass"?
But they don’t pay. I need money constantly
You get paid for jury duty in Canada. The amount varies by province. It can be a pathetic amount though.
I highly doubt Canadian justice is anywhere near as fair as American justice, as bad as that is right now.
