Hell, even after the Spanish Flu doctors realized they did nothing, and often made things worse due to the masks becoming breeding grounds for bacteria (and leading to bacterial pneumonia due to increased chance of infection).
Yup! Doctors don’t even need to wear masks because masks don’t affect post-surgery infection rates either. A surgeon in an operating room, the one place where a mask hypothetically might be appropriate, does not need to wear a mask. There are multiple studies on this.
