Germany and France have deployed special forces.
By my count NATO has AT LEAST a full brigade worth of infantry holding the airport now, so an overrun seems unlikely.

I've seen a lot of similar footage over the last 4 days and I can't wrap my head around it.
They also have the Afghan intelligence service paramilitary which was CIA run and didn't disintegrate.

The last action "after the war" was a Marine airborne assault intended to free some prisoners in Cambodia. They freed 0 prisoners, but they left behind 3 stranded Marines who were captured (and killed).
