In fairness a lot of the opposition the right has to the left is that they intuit that the left hates them and would simply use policies the right otherwise might like as a weapon against them. So their opposition to the policy is a survival tactic more than a policy difference.
Then of course ConInc came around and tried to formalize what was a survival tactic into some sort of political philosophy that the government ought not ever do anything at all even if it isn't run by people who hate them.
For example a lot of the right isn't against things like nationalized healthcare per se, but they hear lefties talk about all the reasons why they might want to refuse someone access to healthcare for not being left-wing enough and oppose the policy on those grounds.
Or public schools/homeschooling. A lot of people who homeschool don't see it as some inherent moral good over public schooling; they simply don't want their kids taught by the current crop of degenerates who work in the public school system.

That's not fair! We at ConInc have always worked hard to pass generous tax breaks and subsidies for our corporate donors. Need an onerous regulation removed? ConInc's got your back. Knowing how to maximize your earnings in the next mega-spending bill - that's true liberty.

I always thought healthcare would have been more favorable to conservatives had they framed it as charity, instead of a right that suddenly the government created.
Healthcare would be more favorable to conservatives if they knew they wouldn't have to pay for illegal aliens, abortions, transgender surgeries for children, and whatever new degenerate thing the left comes up with every 5 years.
the left essentially has no principles beyond "opposition" of what they perceive to be the right
Not wrong, but then you realise that the right is almost identical in this sense, and you realise why politics are spinning out of control - it's like a propeller not anchored to a base anymore, so it just flies off and destroys itself. The propeller base is reality, and both sides abandoned it, and are just arbitrarily spiting each other, driving each other farther and farther away from reality and farther into insanity.
If it were a different group of people refusing to take the vaccine, they'd be anti-vax right now. Somehow anti-vax went from granola to Home School, and they know what side they're on.

Purging the regressive left would be good for the environment as it would free up housing and reduce emissions and pollution.
“Muh heritage” “Traditional values” “I just want to go back to the way things were.”
-The Regressive Right
Do you wear a small hat?
things were better before people like you were allowed to do whatever they want with no consequence
It was 100% this. Trump broke them.

Welcome aboard to the truth, and being hated by the sheep.
No. Leftists have no standards or principles other than gaining power and oppressing others.
When the useful idiots wake up, they realize "oh shit, it was all a scam" and shift pretty quick.
