Simone Biles is cover
posted 4 years ago by AlfredicEnglishRules 4 years ago by AlfredicEnglishRules +32 / -0

I've honestly been a bit confused on why Simon Biles is making the news so much. Then a friend pointed out the US isn't doing as well in medals. They lead in gold's, but not overall.

These stories are cover for the loss.

Hotter take: The IOC is a literal international mafia and its senior officials and board of directors should join Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein.

Most Giant public events are meaningless. The entire spectacle is to promote a pride in a group that probably has nothing else in common.

But enough about the console wars.

I just think the Olympics died before out very eyes this year. Sort of feel bad for Japan. Probably won't make their money back.

Has any olympics made their money back in the past 20 years?

I think only the 2002 winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Otherwise it just results in expensive stadiums and other buildings slowly rotting.

Most countries don't. It's been mounting for a while.

Glorification of the breakdown of mental structure, combined excuses made because they don't want to have to talk about the team members not being able to bring their Adderall to Japan (because Japan doesn't recognize it as a therapeutic drug and they really frown on people using amphetamine-based drugs).

In the case of the latter, it's pretty simple. Take away the legal speed and after a few days withdrawal sets in. But nobody is going to talk about that dirty little secret. Nope, it's far easier to blame it on "mental exhaustion" when the shakes kick in, and then have the MSM cheer about how "it's okay to quit when you can't handle it". Never mind the fact that the whole point of the Olympics is to go out there and give 110% for your country. Appreciation for peak human performance is dead.

yeah I was wondering about that. Why all of a sudden is this rather boring story everywhere?

NBC's ratings are another loss.

I was watching the gymnastics with my mother the other day because she quite enjoys that. It is the most obnoxious thing that they cut to Simone Biles like every single breather they have. It makes no sense. Politics aside, she is just out of the relevance of these events anymore. Yet they keep cutting to her like she is some hero.

Yeah, that's why it was confusing me.

Then I realized we were losing the pissing contest, so we had to talk about the quality of the piss.
