We've been shrouded in smoke here for weeks the last three Augusts in a row, started in 2017.
One year it was Canadian smoke, last year it was California smoke which was even weirder as the smoke finally blew offshore from California and out to the Pacific where it lingered, and then rolled back in from the ocean onto Seattle. No one had ever seen that happen before. I fear it, the west coast fire season smoke is unliveable.
It's going to get better. The emperor, I mean governor, said he wouldn't send aid for drought in the places where fire season is common. There wasn't a winter, and the heat waves over 100 have dried up those areas terribly.
If Spokane could, it would erect a stone statue with a middle finger aimed at Olympia.
Dry winters are actually an indicator of a mild fire season in CA. No matter how good the year is, ALL of that brush dies in the summer. The less that grows, the less fuel there is.
You should have seen the smoke cover turn a sulferish yellow yesterday. It was fucking creepy. Not my first forest fire rodeo, either, and I was in Crowsnest Pass (Bellevue) for the Lost Creek fire (2004). That was fun.
Wildfires are just a natural part of things. Just no one noticed or documented when these areas were unpopulated.
How to cut down on wildfires once humans have moved in? Proper forest management. Liberal forest management seems to be more of do absolutely nothing and scream climate change.
It's almost like forest fires were a natural part of the United States ecology for a long fucking time, especially out west and in California with how often this shit happens.
aint liberal forest management great? :)
Yeah. Biden's handlers posted something about the fires not being a "partisan issue." Funny when you're inane, "science denying" policy lead to them.

Not in Washington. The fire season has already begun.
God is sending a fiery hell as punishment for driving SUVs. Repent all ye sinners and suck the feminine penis, or She shall smite us a second time.

Wildfires are natural. Cunts starting them is not.

make california pay reparations for its incompetence
Note that during the wildfires last year this didn't happen. And miraculously it's a clear day today which means the fores must have stopped
One of the fires was a dry lightning strike in the middle of nowhere with no roads remotely close to the strikezone. That one I can understand.
The rest were started by brush igniting off the side of the road, meaning they skimped on mowing the highways AGAIN!
