The right doesn't fight because they have no organization. No mass apparatus to ensure the boogaloo kicks off in every city at the same time like we saw with the peaceful looting last summer.
En masse, the right could probably successfully pull off a revolution, but there is no body to give the signal. Everybody is scared to be the first one to fire. Because if it doesn't kick off then, they're going away forever and their family is going to be ruined. Basically shit has to get to the point where it's untenable for the average Joe to live life, and we're not there yet. Boomers are starting to fedpost irl in water cooler conversations though which is a potential good sign.
Also the people who would most strongly fight back would be people on the right.
After Trump says a bunch of "If we let this fraud stand we don't have a country" rhetoric, January 6 upon his request a bunch of people go to the Capitol to show their support for Trump. Things get out of hand, and Trump himself orders the Guard to clean house and throws the book at them. Only now, 6 months after he's safely out of office and unable to actually do anything, does he comment that maybe his imprisoned supporters shouldn't be treated as severely as they are.
Sane people don't fight wars when they're afraid their own Generals are going to be the ones ordering the kill shot.
Desperation will spark violence. Always does. No reason to rush into it, though.
Bottom line is, we get the government we deserve. If it's not failing us too awfully according to the easily influenced majority, it will shamble on. If they're hungry, the situation will alter quickly.
The real reason is baked within our ideals of ethics. If the right fights back, then there will most certainly be escalation and that is the insidious thing, that little shred of hope that all will return to normal once the novelty of these new ideas wears down. That to lean into it would villainize them later on, afterall, many of "us" were liberal at a point and there is that natural fear of being called racist. The media made sure of that.
There are also many have come out of military backgrounds and know what a destroyed country looks like and are quite aware that there is no turning back after that and that is their life, and their children's children's lives. Others are aloof, with their comforts and finances at risk and are absolutely shackled by their notions of maintaining face.
The left? Well, they have the whole corporate sphere, the technocratic wing of silicone valley, the media, the government, the U.N., and the whole new world order behind them. They also have druggies and fuckups who have nothing to really lose from being arrested, who are perfectly fine with doing all of the dirty work. They are allowed to shoot you. They might be untrained pussies, but they are exempt from punishment. A zerg, if you will.
Fighting is essentially what they want, what their investors want, and it would bring this country to ruin in any meaningful exchange. There is more than one form of fighting however and it is a grappling match that everyone on the other side is afraid of - it's been everything that they have tried to fight over the past 50 years and that is the efficacious, self-sustaining white family unit. If that is intact, in any concentrated form, they'll fail and eat themselves like all commies do.
