I'm fairly sure Ron Paul opposed the neocons in the 80s who thought they could kill China with "kindness" by "infecting" them with capitalism.
Rand may be a little less based than Ron is, but I'm also sure he sees China as a threat to not just US' liberty, but the world's liberty.
Only problem is, he's only one man, but at least he's making rounds in the mainstream - that's what's important. You just need one or two firebreather types that are loud, brash, and more importantly correct. Nothing of what Rand Paul has said the past few weeks has been wrong.

I'm just pointing out to people who have an open mind that the comment attributed to Rand Paul is silly, and anyone who wants to know why just has to read a bit on zoonosis to realize that viruses commonly have hosts that they don't harm.
I'm glad that the most powerful (on paper) men in the country are now able to openly say what I've been saying for the last 18 months.
Maybe by January of 2023, they'll be able to openly say China should be punished for this, or that our own traitors should be tried and then hanged.

The "Zoonosis" would take time and there would be a large reservoir in animals - which we are not able to find.
We were able to find the zoonotic link in mers and sars1 and our genetic testing was antique back then.
Now we can do millions of genetic tests a day.... and we can't find any bats or pangolins that have a related infection
