I expected this after Halo 5, but this is much worse than I thought it would be.
343 basically threw out all her characterization from the past games/novels and were like: “It’s Halsey Cortana everyone!!!”

edit It looks like this could be a copy of Cortana (which explains the Halsey look) that could either turn into the old Cortana/get replaced by the other Cortana in secret. If that’s true and they reveal a version based on the older design, I’ll be pretty happy. Not holding my breath though.
Based on the dialogue in the trailer, it seems this is a new, different cortana, also based on Halsey's brain but created independently, specifically created to handle and capture the original rampant Cortana. So not really a copy, either - more a newer model I guess.
Based on the trailer, I'd expect the original Cortana to show up again.
I don't think the overall story will be anything special after the travesty that was Halo 5, but this seems to be jumping at shadows by people that just looked at screencaps of the trailer and didn't actually watch it to get the context.

I don’t think it’s people jumping at shadows, if you get attacked each time you get near an alley at night, then I don’t blame you for being cautious of alleyways. 343 have done more than their fair share of virtue-signaling.
Such progress. Even without the lack of skin the model on the right is just ugly. The body looks like something you would draw in highschool using geometric shapes as a base.
Anyone still playing Halo after 343 got it probably deserves to have their toys taken away and then shit on.
And in consistent 343 style, they don't just make her less "sexual" but incredibly awkward and forced in a way that makes sure you know her form was deliberately made to be dressed like that.
