Leftists really love to 'own' the marketable side of every argument, but every now and again they get so deep up their own buttholes they forget themselves and honestly spout something like this.

The amazing thing is that the article essentially proves the Republicans right. All the quoted gibs recipients basically say that they want government money over working at a job.

I mean, why wouldn't they? $300 a week is literally what you earn at minimum wage. Yeah, you can work harder and earn more, but if you're low skill, you might make what, $10/hr? So basically you work 40 hours a week to make an extra $100?

Fuck that, I'd sit on the couch too. Which is what all these governors (and anyone with a brain) has been saying for ages.

And it's fucking obvious, too. Just drive around. Every single low wage, low skill job opening is empty. All of them.

I just stopped to get some fast food on the way home from a weekend trip yesterday and it took 20 minutes at Taco Hell to get a half dozen burritos for my family. The cashier apologized for the wait and told me it was because they had an influx of brand new employees now that the unemployment ended.

In other words, economics didn't magically change just because there was a virus, just like we all said it hadn't, and socialism still fucking sucks.

Remember, that $300 bucks is on top of your normal unemployment "benefits", and even if you're in the "no tax" tax bracket, there's still federal/state withholding and the various gibs taxes, eg. Social Security. Then you've got costs for insurance and deductions for the 401k.

This entire situation just makes me fume.

And the ones that were worth half a damn found employment in essential fields like grocery stores that aren’t shutdown on a whim.

Had the same thing happen to me at Taco Bell a couple weeks ago. They had to bring out the food after a long wait and apologized (but because they were still short-staffed) and offered a coupon for a free taco. What a class act. That's the first fast food establishment that I've seen that has stepped up and apologized and offered a coupon in the past year and it wasn't even that long of a wait compared to other experiences I've had. For me, that earns them a Taco Bell instead of a Taco Hell. It's the fucking little things like that that make a difference. The brown, meat-flavored oatmeal in my burritos was even still warm by the time I got home.

"But they're still bad people for pointing it out"

Dedicated social welfare Democrats will still manage to ignore this and pretend that's a right-wing myth.
