This should have been obvious when our named agencies became very public laughing stocks. The real power previously vested in the FBI and CIA has migrated to newer, more secretive replacements.

I was at DOD in the early 2000’s when CIA was obstructing us after 9/11. They claimed they had no intel on Afghanistan until we formed our own group inside the DIA to go around them. Why? Most of the Cold Warrior replacements were college professors appointed by Clinton who viewed that Al Gore had won in 2000 and were doing everything to obstruct even though we had just been attacked. It was really prelude to what was to come at all federal agencies.

Republicans in an attempt to be “nonpartisan” never purge these agencies when they get in and it’s the first thing Democrats do. Next GOP pres, if there is a next, first action needs to be fire anyone manager or above from every executive agency.

Likewise when Republican presidents signal they will be replacing long-serving bureaucrats the media screams that they are firing opposition and doing loyalty tests. When Democrats purge the bureaucracy, crickets.
