Only if they keep using Ichiban Kasuga. Doesn't make sense otherwise.

TBH kiryu had 7 games and the ending pretty much outright states that theres more he wants to do.

My main thing is i don't know how the hell theyre going to justify setting everyone back to zero power wise. Or maybe they'll just pull some DQ/rpg in general stuff with his obsession over those games.

And the fact that a lot of 7 was pretty good because we got to meet the main characters and their plots played a big part.

I can't wait either way though

But i guess they could also introduce new characters but why the hell would they do that

That's pretty much every RPG sequel ever. That same conundrum has been tackled somehow tons of times.

The Kiwami games wouldn't work since they're just remakes of the originals on older consoles. Side spinoffs would work though.

Which makes it a bargain bin title for me instead of a pre-order one. As much as I like turn based games, there are already plenty available. Though it is kind of funny that people want Final Fantasy to have action combat because turn based is 'old and boring', but Yakuza goes from action beat 'em up to turn based JRPG and everyone loves it.

Though an argument for this I've seen a lot is that the previous style is boring because you spam the same 1-2 moves over and over. Failing to realize that selecting the same 1-2 moves over and over from a menu is even less exciting than having to time your Tiger Drop.

I don't think anyone but Square and games journos think that. We haven't had a proper turnbased FF since FFX in the mainline, and that was near 20 years ago.

I don't know Yakuza well enough to comment on the change, but Turn Based is basically a dead genre in the AAA sphere, and nearly every series that was founded on it went action based in the last decade. Which might be why people liked it here.

I think its a nice change of pace but it did get a bit repetetive near the end between how big the city was and how many enemies there were.

I haven't gotten around to Like a Dragon yet. I'm still on ... 5 I think? Frankly, I can't fucking wait, because my GOD is the fighting getting old. It was old 3 games ago and knowing how much more is still ahead of me really drags.

So I guess what I'm saying here is that I am pre-emptively ok with this. I'd already have played it, but I don't want to risk spoilers. Though to be quite frank with you all, half the time I barely have a grasp on what the flying fuck is going on. My main take away is that Japan must have the best healthcare in the entire world with how flippant everyone is with their own wellbeing by throwing themselves into the meat grinder that is the protags.

Land of the bansai charge and kamikaze pilots, home to people who disregard their physical well-being? Imagine my shock.

I wonder if they will keep the anti-japanese sentiment as well. The villains of Yakuza 7 are people who want to keep Japan ethnically Japanese.

I finished the whole game and only the main villain deported some illegal aliens.

Some of the secondary villains like Mabuchi and his crew were illegal aliens themselves.

Kume/ Bleach Japan were secondary villains and essentially sjws who wanted to enforce their morality on everyone. I see Bleach Japan as basically Antifa/BLM.

The two Omi clan lieutenants even worked with illegals when it suited them: Tendo and Ishioda didn't care about anything except their own rise to power.

I don't think the game was trying to preach opening the borders as a good thing.

The main takeaway theme from the game is essentially it is never too late to work hard and try to fix your life back from rock bottom. Ichiban exemplifies that. The other main theme is the power of friendship cliche.

Overall I really enjoyed the game and I don't think that they were trying to push the message of diversity or open borders as a good thing.

I'm fenced. The Japanese in general are VERY xenophobic, not in an openly hostile way but still aren't fond of gaijin, especially Chinese. BUT certain leftist ideals are taking over like feminism and the 5000 genders shit is popular with teens and neets but people with jobs and careers don't go full retard into leftist idpol shit and the far left has a bad reputation due to the Nihon Sekigun terrorists, the AIA Building hostage crisis and Hantenren thoroughly pissing the general public off by insulting the Imperial family by protesting princess Aiko's birth in 2001 then protesting the 2019 Japanese imperial transition.
