Considering multiple branches of the RCMP use the Smith & Wesson 5946, and Smith & Wesson M&P, Smith and Wesson should deny all sales to Canada, and sue them for potentially damaging their brand every time one of their officers uses, or is seen with one of their guns.
If it's legal to sue the gun manufacturers because their guns were used in criminal acts - then these judges can be PERSONALLY sued for allowing criminals back onto the streets and for any and all damages caused by their judgements - pro or con.
It isn't about the merit of the case (or lack thereof). It's about forcing gun manufacturers to defend themselves in court for huge $$$$$$
Sure, if they get super lucky they might actually win a case that turns into a windfall for some useful idiot, but the goal is to harass, raise prices, and hopefully bankrupt companies.
I went to read just to see why they were saying S&W was at fault. That!? Really? I guess you're right they want it to Bluetooth to your phone and register on the internet before firing.
This is a can of worms that nobody should want to open. Where does it stop? Will people be able to sue the manufacturers of automobiles for collisions? What about suing anyone that's made anything that's ever been used to commit a crime?
It stops where it always stops. Right before affecting leftists or the blessed elitist-class but still steamrolls small business and those who don't give a pinch of incense at the alter of wokeness.
One of the trick questions I remember from an exam in the one law class I took was "can you sue for [stupid thing that had no grounding]", and the answer is "yes". Just because you can sue doesn't mean you'll win. If they pursue, the end result will be them paying court and lawyer fees for no reason.
This judge is in the right. People should be free to throw away money. The company should, if they get served the papers, give them $20 to fuck off.

This is STUPID and IGNORANT.

My car doesn't require a breathalyzer before turning on, nor does it scan my driver's license.
If I get in an accident, it's Honda's fault as they did not utilize available technology that would have made it unusable.

I'm fat. I should be able to sue the grocery store, junk food makers plus the people who manufactured my fork, couch, TV, PC & gaming consoles.
They all had as much of a hand in my weight as the gun makers did the Danforth shooting.
Barrett refuses to sell to or service Cali state owned guns since they banned them by name/banned .50BMG
This isn't a case of slippery slope. Only enemies of the communist party are vulnerable to these lawsuits.

Can't wait for people to sue McDonalds for making them fat.
