The only good thing that came out of the Chinavirus bullshit is that more parents are walking away from public schools run by marxist teacher unions and choosing to home school.
It was clear last year that this was the perfect opportunity to dismantle the federal education system. Push the taxpaying people out, and after a while they'll say "meh we didn't need them anyway." And the people will find other ways to get it done.
Once they realize they don't need the predatory school system, what remains of it will be forced to change to survive.
At the very least move somewhere somewhat rural if you're sending kids to school. I've seen accounts of leftist teachers damn near on suicide watch because they hate living in a rural area to teach. So a lot of them leave.
I'd homeschool if you can though. I used to think it was nuts years ago but some homeschooled kids I've interacted with are some of the best. Then how the public school did my cousin. She was about the only little kid I ever actually liked. It's super rare for me to get along with little kids, especially girls. Well after a year or two in school they convinced her parents she has one of those attention disorders and to drug her up. Those drugs just totally bury her personality and make her into a robot. She's getting into gaming now, so I'm going to try to use that common interest maybe to at least try to be a good influence and keep her away from becoming feminist nut.
Yeah it's really sick. They tried on my nephew too in kindergarten to give him ADHD or whatever. Like really you expect a 5 year old to go from never having been to school to being a perfect little citizen in a couple months? Luckily my brother (a leftist even) told them they wouldn't do it. I think we've got the combination of lazy teachers and super dumbed down indoctrination curriculum that kids just get bored out of their mind and the teachers want to not have to deal with them.
Unions generally exist to prevent low performance workers from being fired. They also force all of their members to fund the Democrats who end up outsourcing many of those jobs anyway.
Teachers are full blown marxists pushing critical race theory racebaiting.
What rational individual would be dumb enough to support either group by this point?

I was never one to push for homeschooling when I was younger, because as a youth I saw a LOT of weird kids come out of homeschool situations, where the parents would push their fucked-up religious-based teachings on the kids (e.g. young earth theory, dinosaurs bones were put there as a test of faith, etc.) on top of the kids having next to zero social skills due to no interaction with their peer group.
Flash forward and I'm damn glad I don't have any kids, because I'd have been looking into private schools that aren't socialism-infested and facing the prospect of paying through the nose to send the crotch-spawn to them. Now, in a post-Wu-Flu world, I'd be cutting that public shit off the second I saw anyone mention anything relating to critical race theory, colonialism, white guilt, or any other similar bullshit and looking into buying homeschool books.
