Antitrust laws will only be used whenever the government needs to get more influence in that sector. They already have their hands in all the big tech companies so no need.

There is no private enterprise in America. Anti-trust is simply a tool of power for internal government struggles. People need to stop cucking to something that doesn't exist. The people own the means of production under a dictatorship of the proletariat.

Microsoft recently forced installation of their own web browser on Windows 10. This was the very same offense that got them trust busted decades ago. Why would they do the exact same thing now?

Because Google and Facebook have done infinitely worse and have suffered zero consequences. Anti-trust is 100% dead.

Holier than thou Bill Gates (entrepreneur, philanthropist, medical expert, economist extraordinaire, pandemic specializer, etc.) admits as much:

“I was naive at Microsoft and didn’t realize that our success would lead to government attention,” Gates said, referring to Microsoft’s antitrust challenges from more than 20 years ago. “And so I made some mistakes — you know, just saying, ‘Hey, I never go to Washington, D.C.’ And now I don’t think, you know, that naivete is there.”

Big Government and Big Tech are very intimate these days. No surprise that they don't fear repercussions.

Too much power tied up into keeping these cartels chugging along. Passing Anti-Trust laws ultimately lie in the government and we've seen the rampant corruption within it. I'm honestly repeating things that have been said for years, if not decades, but "draining the swamp" isn't just about removing the career politicians like McConnel and Pelosi, it's also about creating a foundation where future Pelosis and McConnels cannot be created. There needs to be more focus on lobbyists and the political duopoly.

Reps are too laissez faire. Dems owe them.

Meh, it's more or less a uniparty. Sure, they aren't all identical but career politicians generally play the same games.

Accept corporate bribes that skirt the law, get recruited to lofty post-Congressional positions, shady business dealings that are an accepted norm, under-the-book dealings that are explicitly disallowed but never enforced, and standard perks incumbent of tax payer monkey...who owes who, exactly?

True libertarians or ideological conservatives seem to be a small minority. The rest enjoy sharing the same legislative pork, what they show in traditional and social media is simply theater.
