The judge stopped the prosecution from dropping the case, bringing in their own expert in some weird judicial prosecution play that I'm not familiar with from US law at all, and dragged it out until Trump pardoned Flynn to protect him from a Biden administration that's already not exactly keen to follow the law when it's inconvenient.
